Sanjay Sen is a law graduate (LL.B) from the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. After completing his graduate degree in law in 1992, Sanjay was enrolled as an Advocate in rolls of the Bar Council of Orissa.

Sanjay completed a Master’s degree in law (LL.M) in 1994 from the University of Edinburgh. In the LL.M program, Sanjay specialised in World Trade Laws and International Commercial Arbitration. Sanjay started practice in chambers specializing in the company side, at the High Court of Judicature at Calcutta, before moving to Delhi in 1996.

Sanjay set up his independent law practice in 1997 and later went on to establish Praxis Partners, a boutique law firm. Praxis Partners was mainly engaged in infrastructure advisory and regulatory practice. Upon designation as Senior Advocate in 2013, Sanjay resigned from Praxis Partners.

Apart from being at the forefront of the development of the law relating to electricity, Sanjay has been involved in several cases concerning company law and other infrastructure verticals such as the development of roads, minor ports, airports etc. Sanjay represents several major infrastructure companies and regulatory institutions.

Also, he has been routinely appearing before the various Commissions, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, High Courts of Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh & Delhi and the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Sanjay also appears in matters before Competition Commission of India and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal.

Sanjay’s personal interests include writing on topical issues, travelling, exploring wildlife parks, reading and music. He is based in New Delhi.
